The
Garden is a fine, small family hotel set on the high mountainside
at Ravello with a stunning panoramic view from its balconied rooms
and terraces of the steep cascade of the Amalfi Coast down to the
Mediterranean.
The hotel is
located at the centre of the historic, once the Imperial Roman village
of Ravello, a few steps from the main Piazza and Cathedral.
It
is named for the celebrated garden of its immediate neighbour, the
Villa Rufolo, where composer Richard Wagner found inspiration for
"the Magic Garden" of his last major work, "Parsifal"
.
The celebrity is maintained with great artists and orchestras drawn
to summer festivals and concerts both in the cliff-top grounds of
the villa, overlooking the sea, and the elsewhere in the town now
rightly bestowed the title: "Citta della Musica".
